A power outage in the telecommunications sector results in millions in losses and leaves millions of users without communication. Función Digital carried out a massive plan to deploy and upgrade critical power systems nationwide, creating true backup “hubs” to protect the network’s main nodes.

Project Objectives:

• Implementation of Energy Hubs: Setup of dedicated energy rooms for the stabilization and large-scale backup of major transmission centers.
• Large-Scale Energy Storage Deployment: Supply, installation, and wiring of more than 2,400 lithium batteries and 1,500 high-capacity VRLA batteries.
• Conversion and Generation Systems: Installation of 300 rectifier plants for efficient power conversion and the installation of 50 emergency generator sets for long-term backup.

The enormous installed capacity (thousands of storage technologies and hundreds of conversion systems) shielded the grid from prolonged outages, ensuring that critical services remain operational in the event of severe nationwide power emergencies.

The scale of this project demonstrates that Función Digital has the logistical and technical capacity to manage massive volumes of critical infrastructure. Ensuring the energy backup for a national grid requires organization, advanced engineering, and rigorous control—qualities that define our standard of work.
